About us

My passion for knifemaking was first started by my grandfather (an accomplished engineer) who introduced me as a young lad in the early 80's to pieces of broken industrial bandsaw blades that could be annealed then re-shaped and hardened in to knife blades.

While I was away training to be a cabinetmaker at Rycotewood College, Oxfordshire he sadly passed away before I was able to learn more from him about the steel side of the craft to marry with my newly honed woodworking skills.

Some years later I decided to re-kindle my interest when living in very rural Normandy, France. Along with various books and some amazing engineers and knifemakers from across the world willing to share their knowledge via a few internet forums such as 'British Blades' and 'Blade Forums' in the USA specializing in the craft I was able to learn, practise and perfect my methods to be able to launch TP Knives in 2009. 

As a highly skilled and passionate craftsman it became imperative to me to be able to professionally handle every aspect of the build in house, to this end my workshop is fully equipped with a specialist heat treatment kiln and Rockwell hardness tester to ensure the finest quality blades to compliment my unique handles.

Every stage of every knife is meticulously handmade by me in my Kent workshop to the highest possible standards to ensure your knife is not only extremely capable in the field but a pleasure to own and use too.
